Rockaway's Chamber of Commerce touts their town as "the city that has a 7
mile stretch of beautiful beach that Hawaii would die for! We are a great
small town, but big in hospitality and beautiful gift shops, great
restaurants and over 500 available motel rooms, vacation homes and other
beach rentals of which 90% are beach-front and/or beach view!"

Rockaway enjoys an annual kite festival the third weekend in May, an arts
and crafts festival in August, 4th of July fireworks on the beach and an Oktoberfest
celebration at the town's wayside. Rockaway, in its small town
style, thinks up lots of things to do. But, fear not, if you want to relax
and get away from the pressures of the city, this is still the place for
you!
